2nd Grade is Dino-mite

by April Semrad

January 02, 2008

Mrs. Semrad's 2nd graders have explored the prehistoric times and expanded their knowledge of dinosaurs.  During their study of dinosaurs they identified a variety of dinosaurs that lived on land versus prehistoric creatures that flew in the air.  They learned the difference between plant eating and meat eating dinosaurs and compared the various sizes, weights, and body shapes. Along with our study of dinosaurs we adopted a class mascot - Triceratops.  In art, we used paper mache to build a life sized triceratops, which then set outside our classroom.  As a culminating activity to our unit we visited Greenbush and participated in a dinosaur dig.
