Leaves, Leaves, Leaves!
A Science/Math Investigation

We took advantage of the beautiful day on Thursday and took a nature walk! Each student was to find 10 leaves for a science/math investigation. Back in the classroom, our job was first to estimate and then to measure the length of each leaf. We then worked in teams to record the colors of our leaves and make bar graphs to show our results. Finally, we read a Native American legend as to why leaves change colors in the fall. This was then compared to the scientific reason behind the changing of the colors of leaves in the fall. We had fun and learned a lot, too!
