On Saturday, September 15, 2007, EHS hosted the Red Devil Classic. The EHS volleyball team broke their first match losing streak by defeating Coffeyville in the first match of the day. Erie defeated Coffeyville 25-18, 23-25, 25-21. Unfortunately for the Lady Red Devils, the remainder of the day did not go very well. EHS was defeated in their next four matches of the day despite playing very well in spurts against the larger schools in the tournament. The Lady Red Devils played extremely well in game two of the match against Pittsburg High School. Despite their superb effort in game two, Pittsburg won the match two games to one. Overall, the team had a long day on the court, but received some good learning experiences for their future matches.

The Lady Red Devils will next be in action on Tuesday night as they host CNC foes Northeast and Galena with freshmen starting at 4:30 p.m. In Erie High’s only home triangular of the season, the Senior Lady Red Devils and their parents will be recognized in Senior Night festivities between the 2nd and 3rd matches of the evening.
