Seniors Get Laptops

The morning of August 20, 2007, the second day of school, was filled with great anticipation among the class of 2008. The reason was because that week each senior was to be given a laptop computer to use for the rest of the year, as a part of the Project Based Learning program newly added to the curriculum. The laptop can log onto the school’s wireless network and have also access to the school’s server. Everyone is embracing the usage of the laptops in the classroom, even the teachers are looking for new ways to incorporate them in their lesson plans. However, if any damage is done or if the computer is lost, the student is obligated to pay a $250 fee. In other words, unless you want a senior to be very angry, do not trip someone carrying one of these laptops.
These new pieces of technology, for the most part, are working magnificently and without snags so far. Hopefully, things will continue as smoothly.
