PBL (Project Based Learning) is a great opportunity for seniors! PBL is a curriculum that was just instated this year. To get all the facts about PBL I interviewed Mr. Ed Schofield. Here is what he had to say:
What exactly is PBL? “It’s a different way of students learning through projects, team work which is different from a traditional class room.”
How is PBL supposed to help us in the future? “It will help us in team work, work ethic, critical thinking, and independently gathering information that is a part of a whole.”
Do you think we will benefit from PBL? “Absolutely. Any time we can teach young people to think critically and sometimes independently it will help them in decision making.”
Will PBL be for anybody who isn’t a senior like the freshman, sophomores, and juniors? “Yes, not sure how it would look. It might not look like what it is for seniors but it can be done. Mr. Ross used project based learning with junior high. Any time you can teach young people the process of PBL then it will help them in life.”
What is your opinion on PBL? “I think it’s a good thing… It’s different but I can see how it can help and provide the elements of building a 21st century provider.”
