AUTO TECH II

The prerequisite for Auto Tech II will be Auto Orientation and Auto Tech I, or similar courses from another school. The students will experience 30-40% classroom activities and 60-70% lab time. The students will learn more in-depth topics from Auto Tech I and all aspects of auto repair, parts distribution, heavy truck, and other mechanical transportation. This will be more of the everyday auto/truck repair atmosphere. Topics covered in this class will include the following: basics of electrical systems; general electrical system diagnostics and service; battery theory; charging, starting, and lighting systems; electrical instrumentation; electrical accessories; ignition systems, diagnosis and service; full systems, fuels, and other energy sources; fuel delivery systems; electronic fuel injection; fuel injection system diagnosis and service; intake and exhaust system; emission control diagnosis and service; on-board diagnostic systems; automatic, four-wheel, and all-wheel drive transmission and transaxle; heating and air-conditioning; wheel alignment.
