AUTO TECH I

The prerequisite for Auto Tech I is one year of Auto Orientation or a comparable course from another school. The student will experience approximately 50% classroom time and 50% lab time in this class. We will cover more in-depth topics that were introduced in Auto Orientation which cover all aspects of the automobile and limited sections of diesel and heavy truck including the following: shop safety, careers in the automotive industry, automobile preventive maintenance, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, manual transmissions, clutches, drive axles, brake systems, both drum and disc, ties and wheels, suspension, steering, automotive engine design and diagnosis, engine disassembly, cylinder, camshafts and valve train, lubrication and cooling, engine sealing and reassemble.
